If you haven’t been to an Irish pub, you haven’t been to Ireland.

You will immediately know when you have stepped into an Irish pub. An Irish pub has certain characteristics which make it special and worth a visit. The most known signs of an Irish pub are of course the Guinness, the Irish live music and the wild Irish people.

On our first night in Dublin we went to a bar. It was Sunday evening, but in spite of it being Sunday, the bar was crowded and the Irish people were drinking and having a good time. This gave us a great impression of the Irish pub-culture and this great atmosphere gave us the desire to return to the bars night after night.

Temple Bar

One the most famous bar districts in Ireland is called Temple Bar. It is known for its many pubs, restaurants, shops and its wild nightlife which we experienced when we walked the streets of Dublin at night.

Our impression of the Irish pub-culture

The Irish pub-culture is extremely different from what we are used to in Denmark. The Irish pubs and discos were crowded every single evening all week. The Irish people were kind and very forthcoming.

We had a fantastic week in Dublin with our wonderful class and we really enjoyed the Irish pub-culture.
